Find out whether you beat the product they already own

Your product does not compete against an empty shelf. It competes against the bottle someone already trusts, and the only useful question is whether yours replaces it.

What it is

The switching question, asked properly

We ask testers to name the product they currently rely on, then, after the trial, whether the challenger displaced it. That produces a share-steal rate rather than an isolated satisfaction score. Satisfaction of 4.2 out of 5 means very little on its own. Beating the incumbent for 41 percent of dry-skin testers means something you can act on.

Measured against a real incumbent

The comparison is the product already in their routine, not a competitor you picked in a meeting.

Segmented by skin profile

You often win decisively in one segment and lose in another. An average hides exactly the thing worth knowing.

Behavioural, not hypothetical

Alongside stated preference we run a willingness-to-pay step with randomised real price points, which is harder to game than asking what someone would pay.

How it runs

From brief to report in about three weeks

1
Day 0

Brief

You tell us the product, the target skin profile, and the decision you need to make.

2
Days 1 to 5

Match and ship

We recruit the skin-matched panel. You drop-ship to testers or send units to us.

3
Weeks 1 to 2

In-home use

Testers use the product in their real routine, not in a lab under supervision.

4
Days 15 to 21

Debrief and report

Structured feedback is captured, then you get the report, the raw CSV, and the reviews.

Matching

Your product, judged by the skin it was made for

Every test starts from an audience brief. Skin type, primary concern, sensitivities, and current routine narrow who is eligible, so the feedback comes from plausible buyers rather than whoever answered first.

Each filter narrows the panel, so the people judging your product are the people it is for.

Frequently asked questions

Do you ship the competitor product too?
Usually not. The comparison is against what the tester already owns and uses, which is both cheaper and more realistic than a forced paired test. A true blinded paired design is possible where the decision justifies it.
What is the wallet test?
After the trial, testers see a randomised real price and say whether they would buy at that price. Across testers this traces a demand curve rather than a single stated number.
How do you stop people just being polite?
The rating step is paired with a predict-the-crowd question, a Bayesian Truth Serum design. Answers that are surprisingly common relative to what people expect carry more weight, which penalises reflexive positivity.
